A safe haven for self-discovery, health journeys and physical ritual
This gym needed to be more than just a place to sweat, but one that reflected gym-goers’ mindsets. A space that transcends a typical gym with weights, mats, and racks—but rather a safe haven for self-discovery, health journeys and physical ritual.
Exposed brick walls—a mainstay in industrial design—convey strength, endurance and authenticity, and are a deliberate connection to the resilient, strong and hard-working users of the space. Their texture and earthy tones create a striking backdrop for neon lights that punctuate the space with an energetic, contemporary flare. These vibrant neon colors bounce off natural stone palettes and elements for a clash of polished and raw, refined and industrial, creating a space that’s both edgy and inviting.
A stage for physical expression
A boxing ring takes center stage. Spotlights bring and keep focus on the ring for a functional yet dramatic touch, transforming the ring—and the gym—into a stage for physical expression, strength and agility.
A secondary defining architectural feature are the caged-in steel stairs. These not only provide means of access, but reinforce the concept of movement, evolution and people’s power over their physical world. The staircases are underlit for a dramatic and cosmopolitan feel, adding to the gym’s commitment to a unique and multifaceted experience.
Outer beauty, inner strength
Raw materials and minimal accents
The design strips down to basics in the bathrooms and changing rooms with raw materials and minimal accents. Exposed concrete blocks and simple exposed bulb lighting create an honest, unapologetic space that is true to its industrial roots.
Grit and glamour combine to create a unique gym where athletes and the health-minded embrace beauty and well-being.
